The five finalists for the prestigious 2010 Fernando Award are:

Board of Directors For 2010
Outgoing President Bruce Ackerman passes the gavel to Lynn Rinker
The Fernando Award Foundation, Inc. recently announced its 2010 Board of Directors, to be led by President Lynn Rinker, CRS, GRI, Prudential California Realty. Outgoing two-term President Bruce Ackerman, President and CEO of the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley, handed the gavel to Lynn Rinker at the recent Fernando Award Foundation’s annual corporate meeting.

Celebrating its 52nd year, the Fernando Award Foundation honors community leaders who have demonstrated outstanding achievement, over a lifetime, in volunteerism and civic accomplishment in the San Fernando Valley.

“We will carry on the tradition of honoring those who have served in the community, as well as the awarding of ten scholarships to high school seniors who have volunteered during their student years,” said Lynn Rinker.

In addition to Rinker, the 2010 Board of Directors includes: Vice-Presidents Karl Boeckmann, Ed Viramontes, Dennis Watsabaugh and Pam Campeau. Treasurer for the 2010 Board is Bruce Miller, E.A.; Secretary is Patty Jo Wolfson. The most recent recipient of the Fernando Award for 2009 is David S. Honda, President of D.S. Honda Construction, Inc.

Fernando Award Selects Five Finalists for 2007 Honor

The 49th Jesse F. McHam Fernando Nomination Luncheon was held on Thursday, June 14th, at the Hilton Woodland Hills.

The Fernando Award, the highest award for volunteerism in the San Fernando Valley, will kick off its annual recognition process with a luncheon to honor this year's 11 nominees. The 49th Jesse F. McHam Fernando Nomination Luncheon will be held on Thursday, June 14th, at the Hilton Woodland Hills, 6360 Canoga Avenue. The event will begin with a Reception at 11:30 a.m., followed by a 12:00 noon Luncheon. The cost is $55 per person; the event is open to the public.
